SMART LIVESTOCK MANAGEMENT
Modern farmers are managing their livestock by ramping up the digitalization of their daily production, and the use of IoT-enabled collars or tags or even ingestible IoT sensors is becoming ubiquitous in the livestock sector.

Using ingestible IoT sensors or collar IoT sensors, farmers can monitor the health and reproduction of their cattle by analyzing data derived from several parameters, including inner body temperatures, pH levels, movement activity, and rumination times. This technology enables early detection of potential ill health before it becomes evident, improving the fertility of the cows.
As a result, farmers can have a more granular level in farming than in the past, making farming more profitable.
Challenge of the livestock sector: connectivity
Nonetheless, livestock farming often occurs in rural areas, where there is little or no terrestrial connectivity due to a lack of infrastructure.
