Fastcom Can Now Offer SIRO Full Fibre Broadband to Over 600 Irish Business Parks. Is Your Business Connected?
SIRO full fibre broadband business parks Ireland
ComReg data published in June 2026 revealed that only 13% of Irish businesses are using fibre-to-the-premises broadband.
That figure is striking because full fibre is available to 86% of Irish premises nationally. The gap is not a coverage problem. It is an awareness problem. Most Irish businesses in areas where SIRO fibre is already available simply do not know it is there.
And many of them are sitting in business parks where the fibre runs right past the door.

Fastcom is an official SIRO retail service provider, and that means Irish businesses in over 600 business and retail parks across Ireland can now access full fibre broadband through Fastcom. SIRO, the wholesale fibre network operator announced this week that it is pushing hard to bring full fibre to these parks, many of which have the network available but where businesses inside are still on slower copper connections.
The announcement, reported by TechCentral.ie on 21 September 2026, highlighted a specific problem in Irish business connectivity: companies in business and retail parks are particularly likely to be stuck on copper-based broadband even when fibre is available nearby. The park has been passed by the SIRO network. The fibre is there. But the businesses inside are still on the older connections they ordered when they moved in.
Fastcom, as an official SIRO retail service provider, can connect businesses in SIRO-covered parks directly to the SIRO fibre network. Here is what that means in practice.
The Business Park Broadband Problem
Ireland has around 600 business and retail parks. They range from small local enterprise centres to major industrial campuses. And according to SIRO, many of the businesses in them are operating on connectivity that is significantly slower and less reliable than what is now available at their address.
The reason is straightforward. When a business moves into a park unit, they order the broadband that is available at the time. Years pass. The SIRO network extends to cover the park. But nobody tells the businesses inside. The monthly direct debit keeps going out. The slower connection keeps being used. Nobody questions it.
SIRO has now launched a dedicated online search tool covering more than 600 business and retail parks, allowing businesses, IT managers, property managers and estate agents to check whether the SIRO network is available at their location.
SIRO recently completed its full fibre rollout in two major Dublin business locations: Sandyford Business District and Greenogue Business Park in Rathcoole, County Dublin.
Greenogue is one of the largest light industrial business parks in Ireland, with more than 450 companies and 7,000 employees across the site. Tenants include Amazon, Dyson, McCambridge's Fine Food and Zeus Packaging. The park's manager described connectivity as an essential business resource for every company operating there.
The completion of the SIRO rollout in Greenogue means that businesses in the park can now access full fibre broadband through SIRO retail partners including Fastcom, at speeds of up to 10Gbps symmetrical on dedicated enterprise products.
What SIRO Fibre Is and Why It Is Different
SIRO delivers 100% fibre-to-the-building broadband. The fibre optic cable runs directly into the premises. There is no copper connection at any point in the network.
This distinction matters. Many Irish businesses that believe they have fibre broadband are actually on fibre-to-the-cabinet, which runs fibre to a street cabinet and then copper from the cabinet to the premises. Over that last copper stretch, speeds drop and performance degrades. The further the premises from the cabinet, the greater the drop.
SIRO eliminates that bottleneck entirely. The connection is pure fibre from the network all the way into the building. Speed are symmetrical, meaning upload is as fast as download. Performance is consistent and does not degrade with distance from street infrastructure.
The SIRO network currently supports speeds of up to 10Gbps for business customers, with the infrastructure designed to support up to 25Gbps as demand increases. For businesses adopting AI tools, cloud-first software, video collaboration and large file transfers, that headroom matters.
What Fastcom Offers Irish Businesses on the SIRO Network
Fastcom is an official SIRO retail service provider. We supply two SIRO-based products to Irish businesses, covering the full range from growing SMEs to larger operations with higher connectivity demands.
SIRO LightPulse - Business Fibre
SIRO LightPulse is Fastcom's standard business fibre product on the SIRO network. It delivers fast, asymmetrical fibre broadband to Irish business premises in SIRO-covered areas, with the speed and reliability that a 100% fibre network provides. There is two speed options
SIRO Lightpulse 500Mb - (500Mb Download, 150Mb Upload speed)
SIRO LightPulse 1Gb - (1Gb Download, and 250Mb Upload speed)
Kate's Kitchen in Sligo is one example of an Irish business already on SIRO LightPulse through Fastcom. The connection supports daily operations, online ordering and communications reliably regardless of demand.
SIRO Lightburst Dedicated Fibre
For businesses with higher connectivity demands, Fastcom offers SIRO Lightburst Dedicated Fibre. This is a dedicated enterprise-grade fibre connection.
SIRO Lightburst is available in four symmetrical speed configurations.
SIRO Lightburst 100Mb - (100Mb Download, 100Mb Upload)
SIRO Lightburst 200Mb - (200Mb Download, 200Mb Upload)
SIRO Lightburst 500Mb - (500Mb Download, 500Mb Upload)
SIRO Lightburst 1Gb - (1Gb Download, 1Gb Upload)
It is suited to businesses running intensive cloud operations, multiple high-bandwidth applications simultaneously or significant data transfer requirements. Businesses in newly connected parks like Greenogue and Sandyford can access Lightburst through Fastcom.
How to Check If SIRO Is Available at Your Business
SIRO coverage can be checked by Eircode here. The dedicated business park search tool at siro.ie covers more than 600 parks across Ireland and allows businesses, property managers and IT teams to check availability quickly.
If your business is in a SIRO-covered area or park and you are not yet on the SIRO network, the process of switching is managed end-to-end. A SIRO engineer visits your premises to complete the installation. Existing systems connect to the new network. In most cases the transition causes minimal disruption to operations.
As a Fastcom customer on the SIRO network, you get Irish-based support, transparent pricing and a direct point of contact. Not a general support queue.
The Question Worth Asking This Week
ComReg data from June 2026 shows that 86% of Irish business premises can access full fibre broadband. Only 13% are using it.
If your business is in a SIRO-covered area, or in one of the 600 business and retail parks SIRO is now targeting, you may be paying for a slower connection when full fibre is already available at your address.
The check takes two minutes. The improvement in performance can be immediate.
